When Pennypinchers decided to do a rebrand to BUCO earlier this year, they approached TDC&Co to come up with a Brand Wrap design concept.
This concept would see all of their 32 stores, across South Africa and Namibia, change from the traditional red and white, to a very striking colour palette of Buco, orange and grey.
The new brand is bold, and the design application around the sites needed to match this. Large wayfinding arrows and orange entrance portals were applied and various delivery and contractor entrances were emphasised with new bold signage and colour blocking.
Majority of the sites had a new entrance portal created, which allowed for a bigger, more emphasised, BUCO ‘’block’’ to match the brand icon. The raised aluminium letters made the name stand out and in some stores, it was even illuminated. Internally, various new colour isle indicators were added to denote the nine BUCO categories. The pay points had striking floor chevrons applied to guide contractors and customers to their respective paying points and department specific service desks.
The full implementation of the project was also managed by TDC&Co. The timelines were extremely tight and from Brand Design Concept Phase, to application and final installation, saw only 3 months pass for all 32 sites to have their new look and feel. A remarkable achievement and true testament to the partnership between BUCO, TDC&Co and its suppliers.
